eCommerce Fashion Retail 

Over the course of four years, I built this global premium footwear start-up from the ground up across international markets in the US, UK and Nigeria.

Handling all design, product development, production, sales and marketing, I built an efficient business model using outsourced resources, that included motivating  teams of up to 11 people.

In 2017 I exited the business and sold off assets, in order to pursue my MBA studies.

 

Key achievements:

  • Oversaw design, manufacture, marketing and sales of innovative, premium footwear brand.

  • Designed marketing strategy with segmentation and campaigns driven by in-depth analytics.

  • Managed successful PR and social media strategy, securing widespread red carpet and press coverage, as well as growing to 11K Instagram followers.

  • Led high-impact brand launch in Las Vegas, growing to include stockists in US, UK and Nigeria, with production in Brazil, Spain and Italy.

  • Headed four-month campaign in the US that achieved 15 placements, 14.5M impressions at average value of $365K.

  • Nominated as finalist for Footwear Designer of 2017 by Drapers and identified as a ‘designer to watch’, by US trade publications VAMP and Footwear News. Featured in Oprah Magazine, New York Post and InStyle.

  • Generated consistent quarterly growth of 4% and accelerated expansion through diversification that included profitable new consulting revenue stream.

  • Hired and coordinated productive freelance teams of up to 11 consultants, freelancers, designers, factory agents, PR agents, sales agents, tradeshow stakeholders and marketing contractors.

  • Saved cost and increased quality by ~40%; built trust with manufacturers in China, Italy, Brazil, and Portugal during extensive overseas travel.
